FSC Esports

Back in 2018, I wasn't knowledgeable on extra curricular activities I could take part in around the campus. It wasn't until my Sophomore year of being an Associates student in 2019 that I was encouraged to take a leap of faith and joined a club that changed my college experience. It was only a matter of time that my stay in the club would've rewarded me greatly.

During my time at the club, I took part in playing for the Overwatch team competitively, competing against other colleges in leagues/tournaments every semester. Overwatch is a first-person shooter, team-based video game where you play a variety of different heroes with abilities and play together with friends against other players. As time went on, I met many amazing people with whom I got along with and became friends with, even having close connections with some individuals. As a team member, through hard-work and dedication, I achieved the following:

- Recognition in the ECC Esports conference for Support of the Week (Fall 2020) and Most Outstanding Second Team Support (Fall 2021)
- Player MVP chosen by my coaches for displaying exceptional performance and being a role model to team members

Considering how accustomed I was with members who were a part of the Overwatch team, I was granted an opportunity to become a team captain for one of the two teams we had at the club during my senior year of getting my Bachelor's degree (Spring - Fall 2023). When it came to my final semester (Fall 2023) at Farmingdale, my coach offered me to become an Assistant Team Manager to help manage the teams. One event lead to another as I was fortunate enough to step up and became a Team Manager for both Overwatch teams that were around for the Spring 2024 semester after graduation as a Cum Laude.

From what started off small until the club built up to where it is now, I don't regret any moment that I spent with everyone. Taking part in charity streams, team outings for boba tea, team dinners, arcade dates to feed our plushie and anime figure addictions, online PUGS (Pick up games), playing in the arena for matches and practices, there are so many moments that I would love to go through again if I were able to rewind time to relive those memories. I was lucky enough to able to stick around to see that they're still growing and improving, meeting more new faces that have similar interests as I do. Being able to give back to those who have made my experience at the club worthwhile and unforgettable makes me feel grateful. FSC Esports is a club that has a special place in my heart that I would call a second family.
